Song of the Week: “Charlie, Last Name, Wilson”
I’ve listened to this song dozens of times so far. It is smooooth. Considering the soulful crooning behind the lyrics, it’s odd that they are emotionally detached at parts, like he needs to convince himself he should fall in love. “Being in love is good for your health”. “Now that I’m in this club, I might as well.” Charlie Wilson is 65, and perhaps a weariness or pragmatism about falling in love comes with age.
Regardless, this song has been pleasantly stuck in my head for the past few weeks, and still hasn’t got old. Download link in the sidebar.
